DESCRIPTION:
Elany Image offers you a comprehensive education in basic cosmetology, including all aspects of hair care and hair design, nail care, skin care, make-up application and salon business. The curriculum has been carefully developed in accordance with the need for both solid basic skills as well as contemporary applications of those skills. OBJECTIVES:
Your successful completion of the course will, at a minimum, prepare you to take the State Board of Cosmetology examination for your licensure. Taken at its full potential, your basic training course will give you the educational foundation for the career of your fantasies: hairstylist, salon owner, photostylist, make-up artist, product technician, pennist/colorist, educator or platform artist.

FORMAT:
The clock hour education is provided through a sequential set of leaming steps that address specific tasks necessary for state board preparation if required,_ graduation, and entry-level job skills. Clinic equipment, implements, and products are comparable to those used in the industry. Each student will receive instruction that relates to the performance of useful, creative, and productive career-oriented activities. The course is presented through comprehensive lesson plans that reflect effective educational methods. Subjects are presented by means of lecture, demonstration, and student participation. Audiovisual aids, guest speakers, projects, activities, and other related learning methods are used in the course.
Each student in the full-time program attends school 30 hours per week . You will spend the first two months attending Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00pm, and switch Tuesday through Saturday, from 9am to 4 pm, once you have been certified to work on School clients at the completion of 250 clock hours. Evening (part time) Students attend class Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Saturdays from 8:30 to 5:00. The full time basic cosmetology program takes approximately twelve months (eighteen months part-time) to complete, providing 1500 clock hours of instruction, as required for a state license.
As a beginning student, you will spend much of your class time listening to lectures, watching videos and demonstrations, reading, and then applying the theory you learned to practical mannequin work. As you progress, you ’11 spend more time working with clients on the clinic floor, advancing from basic hair styling and cutting to advanced chemical such as permanent waving, hair coloring and straightening. You’ll also spend more time as you approach graduation learning the business of cosmetology, preparing you to be successful financially as well as creatively.
GRADING PROCEDURES:
Students are assigned a theory study and a minimum number of practical experiences required for course completion. The theory is evaluated after each unit of study. Practical assignments are evaluated as completed and counted toward course completion only when rated as satisfactory or better. Practical skills are evaluated according to procedures, performance standards. Students must maintain a theory grade average of 75 % and pass a final written and practical exam prior to graduation. Students must make up fail or missed tests and incomplete assignments. Numerical grades are considered according to the following scale:
